Training in suturing techniques focuses on techniques used in primary care. Suturing techniques adapted to the operating theatre will not be taught in this course.
The course covers crucial topics such as skin, muscle and vessel anatomy, as well as physiology, haemostasis and wound healing.
The program includes an introduction to different types of sutures. Training on the tools required and the aseptic precautions to be taken to ensure a good prognosis.
Practical exercises and tests will reinforce and certify the skills acquired.
The aim is to enable participants to recognize and deal effectively with a medical-surgical emergency.
In the absence of the need for hospital treatment, suture techniques are applied, taking into account potential aesthetic damage.
All training materials are provided on-site by the training center.
Classes are held in English or French depending on preferred the langage of students.

Why suture?
What is the role of suturing in the French healthcare system / Why does suturing save time in emergency care?
Anatomy of suturable structures (skin, muscles, vessels)
Physiology of wounds, hemostasis and healing
When to suture?
Assessing and referring wounds to the emergency department
Knowing the prerogatives of each healthcare professional with regard to suturing
Knowing and mastering the techniques of : 2 types of stitch, 2 types of overlock (including intradermal)
Know how to perform each of these techniques: choice of technique, tools, asepsis, antibiotic therapy
Duration: 10 hours spread across 2 days.
Number of participants: up to 6 students for each class
Fee: 200€ per student (transport from the airport, bed and breakfast/meals can be charged additionally)
